  1. Mr. Menear,
My apologies for disrupting you in what I’m sure is as busy a time for you as it is for me. I usually don’t write emails unless service is horrible, and Home Depot is (was) pretty much the only place I go.
A few weeks ago, I purchased a lawn mower from the store in Virginia Beach at 2020 Lynnhaven Parkway. I’ve always received the best service. Things have changed. Bought the lawnmower and ever since I got it home (four uses), it’s been beyond disgusting. Barley remained running. Rough running to say the least, and finally, on the 4th time, while mowing some GRASS, of all things, a foot long piece of blade came out and nearly took my leg! I’m almost as old as you are and still had the quick moves.
So I went back up to the same Home Depot and bought another mower. I’ve had some strokes recently and am trying to get this place on the market. I bought a “new” Troy Bilt mower from your same location. It’s the one I always go to. Paid over $216 for it and found out it’s been USED. Seriously? Who the Hell is running that store? It ran great. Way much better than the Hyper Tough Cut 20 inch that I (still can’t believe) I went through before.
I called the Home Depot and was bullshitted for quite a while. They told me that if I had it for over 30 days, it’s mine. Well, I checked my purchase date and it wasn’t over 30 days. But the person did a great job of feeling lost, not knowing the brand and dragging me out, so I just ate the $147.34.
I’m sorry. I’m not trying to bitch too much. I’m dealing with blood cancer and I am in the process of trying to get moved and eliminating all of my bills. Not much luck there. Way too much stupidity. And I thought this would be quicker and easier. Silly me.
So the $263.94 that I used to buy a new Troy Bilt turned out to be a USED Troy Bilt. SMH. The good news is that after one mowing, it mows very well. Thank you. Kinda.
So I’ve put the “Hyper Tough Cut” out at the curb. Lately, things there have been disappearing. Thinking the same will happen. Funny to them.
The service at your store on Lynnhaven has become AWFUL. WTH has happened? I know we’ve got “physical” issues to deal with but at your age, only a year older than me, this doesn’t happen, ESPECIALLY at Home Depot. Proven by the fact that I went BACK to your store to get yet another mower.
Anyway, just letting you know the unusualness and change that’s happening in your own store. I can only hope it’s not happening to more than this one.
Thank you for taking your time to read this note.

Have you checked out who Home Depoe in Orange County, CA has partnered up with for bath remodeling. Here are six reasons of why you should be concerned:

1 Quotes are two to three times (or more) than any other reputable contractors; get three quotes and see for yourself.
2 HOME DEPOE WANTS ALL THE MONEY UPFRONT OR WILL NOT START YOUR JOB (call, they will confirm this statement)
3 IMPORTANT! The Ca State Board of Contractors warns consumers to “never” pay the total amount upfront- they state that you should only pay 10 % or $1000.00 whichever is less.
4 Home Depoe subs out all bathroom remodeling work; they do not have their employees or contractors for bathroom remodel work.
5 Home Depoe do not use their own store products for the shower/bath that you are going to have installed

6 TREATED RUDELY AND UNPROFESSIONALLY-The first sales rep tried to pressure me into signing on the spot, when that didn’t work, he talked to me in a condescending manner and then it went into insults. I had another sales person come out thinking it may have just been that one person; the second person was much nicer. However, a week later I got an email that went from asking me if he should throw away my quote (funny way to approach me). But, I replied that I had “planned” to call him Monday (the next day). He then sent another email wanting to know why I was not moving ahead. Again, i said I would call him Monday. The next email went to insults. Again, I replied that I would call him Monday. This made him spiral out of control. He said that he did everting he could to help me. He then insulted me by saying, “With how bad your bath looks, I don’t know what else I can do. Good luck.” Rather than waiting for the next day, he blew me off! lol I will not use American Home Remodeling; therefore, I will also not be using Home Depot for my bath remodel. I did speak with the store Manager and assistant! They were shocked and appalled by the email that I showed them from Michael Bey at American Home Remodeling. They seemed concerned. They were not aware of what is going on, they mustn’t read American Home Remodeling yelp reviews; the consumers are now starting to talk negative about Home Depoe partnering up with such a company. The managers had another company contact me; this ended up to be a division of Reborn (Reborn does not have the best reviews) – The new division go by another name; I was told this division was made up to work directly with Home Depoe. You cannot research them as they do not show up on Yelp or any other reviews that I searched. I got the first call wanting to give me a quote. I said if I need you, I will call back. Then I got another call from another person unaware I had already been called. I asked to be taken off the list. Then I was continually bombarded by phone calls starting at 8am of different sales people for several days stating that they were told to call me. It was a nightmare. The calls have finally subsided.

If Interested I will send you the orignal emails from Michael Bay and I.

  3. To whom it may concern,

and I have a feeling that is not many.

I am going to be cancelling all ties with The Home Depot very soon after the massive misinformation, lies and lack of communication concerning an order, again.

A major appliance order with a slight zip code issue, one digit off, adjoining areas, same city, because the software automatically inserts the stores zip for an appliance order.

If it is there, perhaps I so somehow missed it. Fine, let’s not use any common sense about it though. Did get a call two days prior to the estimated delivery date, and after 20 or so minutes on the phone they told me the issue was corrected and the delivery date is good.

Then, no call, no information and no delivery!

Then I call ANOTHER HD Associate and I am told they cannot change the zip. Hmm. An hour later on hold, someone else tells me it was changed and the delivery was pushed out to another day, but no call to tell me.

No, I did not get a confirming call to set a time for receive, that is not my job to do. But I was told it would be same day that was on the books for 10 days now.

I call, and ask about when, and am told all this conflicting information.

It is a huge disappointment to me that Home Depot takes a full day to two days to change a zip code on a form thus holding up my appliance delivery which is sitting in a warehouse 50 miles away.

I am a not going to accept the COVID excuse because this is pure bad training and lies by the associates who do not seem to know just what can and cannot be done with or to and order, as well as the ripple effect it has on the orders.

Two persons, two days, totally different cans and cannots in their tool boxes of poor training. And I am without my goods and spent a full day waiting on them to tell me it will be Monday. TODAY IS THURSDAY, I AM DELAYED SINCE TUESDAY, AND THEY WANT TO PUT IT OFF FOR 4 MORE DAYS? CANNOT DELIVER UNTIL MONDAY? NOT EVEN A FRIDAY DELIVERY ?

    NO. NO MORE.

Conn’s has it and can deliver to my home tomorrow, same price.

You have lost our long years of loyalty, personal shopping, business shopping and referrals to “The Blue”.

    Have a great day.

  4. Complaint Type:
    Refund / Exchange Issues
    Description of Complaint:
On May 12,2020 I ordered a lawn mower from Home Depot online. When I got to the store to pick up the lawn mower it had not been pulled from stock and I was informed I had to get it my self when I look for the product that I had ordered they didn’t have it in stock but they had a similar one that they told me was the same item. The SKU numbers did not match I told him this and he said it was still the same price and it was the same one. After I returned to customer service with the lawn mower I was informed that my money hadn’t cleared and was suggested to me to purchase another one by the someone from the floor staff. I refused and canceled the entire order on the spot. This took place on MAY 12,2020. On May 14,2020 when I was checking my bank statement online I noticed HOMEDEPOT had taken the money out of my account two days after it had been canceled. I have not received my money back from them yet. It’s been over a month and I’ve tried communicating with HOMEDEPOT the store and with their corporate office and I still haven’t received anything. They tell me they’ll get back with me and I’ve yet to hear from them. It’s sad when a BIG BUSINESS STEALS from a customer! You need to do a better check on your managers they are stealing money from your customers!

  5. I am hoping this reaches the highest management at Home Depot. We recently purchased a full kitchen suite at the Home Depot in Milford. We were in the store prior and could not receive assistance. On this date we approached the women in the appliance area and even thought we perceived her to be very busy she looked up and ask how she could help us. Lynn then listened to our needs and specifications. She filled out all the paper work, explaining every thing in great detail. She worked with us for financing and followed us to the check out. The price at check out was more than her figures in the department. The check out person off handedly said it must just be taxes. I could tell Lynn was perplexed. She said that could be right but she would check over everything again to see where the discrepancy might be. We completed the purchase. At about 8:00PM we received an email from Lynn where she had indeed found a rebate that did not show up at check out and her original numbers were correct. She sent us the corrected purchase price and copy of the sale.
To say we received exemplary service still seems to small to compliment how Lynn handled our purchasing experience. Her expertise, professionalism and attention to the details of true customer satisfaction were greatly appreciated .

  6. Hi. I’m begging for help from someone higher in Home Depot. In Nov 2019 we paid $6300 for flooring and install. Since Nov 2019 I have been trying to get our floors repaired. I have taped phone conversations and video taped of conversations and floor inspections. After I had to file A BBB on both flooring company and home Depot The flooring company called to apologize and sent an inspector. They finally came out June 1st 2020 to pull up my floors and relevel them and put new ones down as for I was charged $500 extra for floor leveling and was told the leveling was not fond correctly. The flooring company didn’t have enough flooring and we’re told it’s just the entry way. It’s funny the entry way Is the only place that’s fine. So I called the store and was told the DM Chris was coming to see. Well I video taped him. I later found out he’s not the DM just a supervisor. He was rude… he kept asked the floor guy what was wrong. Every time the installer tried to tell him the guy Chris what was wrong that it’s not leveled he kept cutting the installer off trying to direct the installer what to answer. He knew he was being video taped I told them all each time due to a previous issue with home Depot lying about saying things. So after I asked Chris to pls stop directing the installer what yo say he’s trying to tell you Chris says he’s leaving to send him my video gave me his email and left. So the installer left too. He couldn’t rip up my floors he didn’t have enough leveling agent to level it or tile. I tried customer service at the corporate office Marcus refused to tell me the District manager name. I asked for a supervisor Marcus refused. I told him I’m taping the conversation he said good. And still refused after I asked numerous times for someone to help. This is my last attempted before having to file in court.
We’re a military family it’s my son’s home who is away in the Army. We were trying to do a nice thing and put new floors in his home. Now he’s house is in shambles. Crappy floors. No Molding. No furniture it’s all boxed up and in storage….again. we have my 84 year old mother with dementia in the home who is not well… And this is do stressful and unnecessary. All because Home Depot refuses to work with the flooring company who finally wants to correct the flooring issue. It’s not my problem they original installer didn’t do the job right. Home Depot sent them. Don’t make it my nightmare. I’ve tried for months to get this resolved with videos of people telling us it’s not correct and taped phone conversations. I’ve been as far as I can go. From store to corporate all the way being lied to and ignored. Please we’re begging for help. Do right I paid in full $6300 of my sons money. It’s not right. Just because home Depot is a big company doesn’t mean the should or can treat people like this.

  7. I hope this email gets to the CEO Mr. Menear. It seems like no else has been able to make things happen. Sir i writing you because i ordered doors for my home 27 June 2019 and with all the excuses and mishaps my final door still isn’t installed. This has been going on far to long. Not what I would expect from this company. I’m loosing my faith in your company ability to take care of its customers. I paid for this service 27 June 2019 but the items I paid for have not been installed. I keep hearing that the wrong size was ordered. again today they were supposed to complete my order and no one showed up, so iI called only to be told that the wrong size door was ordered. 1. This company seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. I ordered a frying pan the 1st of april, it has been over 6 weeks now. I have called the locale home depot got no answer there, called both 800 numbers customer service, one didn’t work, the other i was on hold 32 minutes. You can’t get to talk to anyone. Guess i will have to call a lawyer next.

  8. Morning,
I purchased a refrigerator which was delivered on Sat. 2/22/20. The installers
did not plug it in at the time of delivery. Once they left I plugged the unit in and their
is a very loud constant noise that sounds like the fan hitting something. I have tried
numerous and I mean numerous times to contact customer service. Impossible to speak
with a person. I need to have this refrigerator replaced with a working unit please asap as I now have no refrigerator in my house and it is a major inconvenience. I will not accept a technician coming in to fix a brand new appliance.
    Order number is wa78576669.
    Please reply.

  9. Sir/Madam:
I have two water heaters purchased from Home Depot with lifetime extended warranty. Contract numbers: 325-7115438 and 325-7831452. The install date was 12/06/2006. One of those water heaters is leaking to the outside through the t/p valve and also into the pan underneath the water heater. It is now Saturday and I have had to turn off the water supply to the heater. We need help with this situation soon. I believe the unit needs immediate replacement. The water heater is rated for 12 years; it is now 13 years old. I have contacted Assurant corporation and my local Home Depot several times. Assurant has sent me email appointments twice. No one showed up. I called the identified service person. He said that he had never spoken to anyone from Assurant or Home Depot.

My wife and I have been loyal Home Depot customers for thirty-five years.

Please arrange for a service person to come to our house (xxxx xxxxxxx xx, xxxxxxx xx xxxxx) or call me (xxx xxx xxxx).
    Thank you.
