Before he became CEO in 2015, Oscar Munoz was serving as Board of Director of United Airlines since 2004. Prior to that, he was at a freight transportation company CSX, where he served as COO since 2012 and assumed the position of President also later in 2015. From 2003 to 2012, he was EVP and CFO at CSX.
In 2001, he was with AT&T, where he became CFO of Consumer Services segment. Before coming to AT&T, he held the position of SVP Finance and Administration at U.S. West from 1997 to 2000. From 1986 to 1997, he worked at Coca-Cola as Region VP of Finance and Administration. He played various other roles too in his 11 years stint with the company. He had moved to Coca-Cola from Pepsi Beverages Company after working there for almost 4 years from 1982 to 1986. He performed different financial roles there.
