Sahil Barua, age 39, was born in 1984. The thought of starting up struck Sahil’s mind when he was doing his MBA. He was considering an idea to help other startups grow, by financing them and enabling them to boost their operations. But his original idea could not be implemented due to the economic downturn of 2008 in India. As a consequence, Sahil took a day job at Bain & Co, where two of his current Co-founders Mohit Tandon and Suraj Saharan were already employed. Since all of them wanted to do something of their own, they decided to quit their consulting jobs, which according to them did not have much scope for growth. After that, the trio went on a 6 month sabbatical first.

Sahil first met his fourth Co-founder Bhavesh Manglani in 2008 over a dinner. After that, they were not in touch. Almost three years later when Delhivery was set up, Sahil needed someone in the tech division and that’s when he connected with Bhavesh, who was a techie. Bhavesh was later shifted to operations division, and his void was filled by Kapil Bharti, who became company’s 5th Co-founder.
