Between 2014 and 2017, he was a Board Member of ISB’s Next Generation Leaders Board. Prior to that, in 2011, he helped Groupon set up its India business and became its CEO. After a management buyout in 2015, Groupon India was changed to Nearbuy. Before the emergence of Nearbuy, he served Groupon APAC as the Head looking after its businesses in India, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia.  He joined the company in 2013 and continued working there till 2014.

From 2010 to 2012, he was the Venture Partner at Rocket Internet GmbH. In 2007, he became the Cofounder of Accentium Web, which was launched by Vivek Pahwa. Other than that, Ankur worked as an Associate at A.T. Kearney from 2006 to 2009 and as Consultant at NIS Sparta from 2004 to 2005.
