Cost of Headquarters
Spread over in an area of 2.82 million sq ft, the whole cost of the construction of the building is estimated to be $5 billion. The exterior of this beautiful structure is wrapped by curved glass.

Curved Glass Structure
The curved glass used in the building is one of the largest in the world and measured at 6 km. About 3000 sheets of this curved glass is used to cover the entire circumference of the circular building. The curved glass design not only enhances the beauty of this amazing building, but also gives employees a chance to enjoy the lovely sight of the garden built in the inner of the circular design.
Inspired by iPhone
Every corner of the building is inspired by the design and features of the exemplary iPhone. For instance, the elevator at the building has the similar home button design of that of iPhone model.
Wonderful Ceilings and Roof
The ceilings and roof of this spaceship campus is also galvanized with the iPhone’s strikingly neat packaging. The ceiling of the building is neatly covered with polished concrete on both sides – inside and outside the building.

Talking more about inspiration from iPhone, the toilets made in the building are glossy and shining and are made smaller than the standard industry measure of 1/8 inch.
Good Design in Exterior Too!
Keeping up the impression just like the plain and neat appearance of white box of iPhone, the whole building design is made in such a way that there is simply no visibility of and any vents or pipes on the exterior glass wall.
Doorways, wonderful!
Another interesting fact is that the doorways built at the building are completely flat there are no thresholds at all. The thought behind keeping thresholds off is that it would cause obstruction for people walking through them.
Door Handles, Unique Features
Interesting and yet amusing that Apple was not decisive about the door handles. It took over a year to decide which design to finalize.
Fire Escape Signage
Talking more about behind the scenes or the decisions regarding designs, we have heard that even the design of fire escape signage was finalized after 15 meetings. The constructors were handed a 30 page guideline about which kind of wood will be used and where all it will be used in the structure.
It’s an object of art!
The whole building is not just a construction project but rather an object of art. The due care and delicate work was taken care of, each worker at the project was instructed to wear gloves. They had to wear the gloves throughout so that the design and material used remained clean and clear absolutely from any sort of scuffs or fingerprints.
