Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass believes the worst in business is over for the company. As Kohl’s continues to reopen its stores across the United States, it reported a quarterly net loss with sales tanking 43.5%. However, the digital sales took off increasing by 24% during the same time period.
Michelle Gass in a post-earnings call also confirmed the end of Kohl’s long association with Jennifer Lopez. The Kohl’s CEO cautioned about the potential negative impact of the pandemic on the demand for and sale of women’s apparels.
Other brands that Kohl’s is slated to eliminate from its stores include Dana Buchman, Mudd, Juicy Couture, Popsugar, Candie’s, Elle, and Rock & Republic.Michelle Gass re-iterated the company’s commitment towards women’s business and mentioned that the removal of brands is a short term measure for coping with business challenges.
